High Carbon Spring Steel Wire is a non-alloy steel wire that is not plated or coated. It is made from a metal alloy consisting of various amounts of carbon and iron, with additional elements present in minimal quantities that do not affect its physical properties.
This type of steel wire is known for its high carbon content, which makes it stronger and harder compared to low carbon steel. However, it also becomes less ductile and more difficult to weld. The higher carbon content also lowers its melting point, making it less resistant to high temperatures.
There are four types of carbon steel wire, including low (mild) carbon steel, medium-carbon steel, high carbon steel wire, and very high carbon steel wire. Each type has specific uses due to their differing properties.
