The High Carbon Spring Steel Wire, also known as plain-carbon steel wire, is a metal alloy composed of carbon and iron. This wire is characterized by its high carbon content, which enhances its strength and hardness. It is not plated or coated and can be hot-dipped galvanized for added protection.
With its low carbon content, this steel wire shares similar properties with iron, making it soft and easily formable. However, as the carbon content increases, the wire becomes stronger and harder, making it less ductile and more difficult to weld. Additionally, the higher carbon content lowers the wire's melting point and reduces its resistance to high temperatures.
The High Carbon Spring Steel Wire is available in various types, including low (mild) carbon steel, medium-carbon steel, high carbon steel wire, and very high carbon steel wire. Each type has specific applications due to their differing properties. For instance, high carbon steel wires are commonly used in the production of drill bits, saws, masonry nails, wood and metal cutting tools, and steel wire ropes.
This wire is made from raw materials such as #45, #55, #65Mn, #70, #82a, etc., which provide excellent tensile strength. The tensile strength ranges from 1300-2000N for wire with a diameter of 1.4-4.0mm, 2000-2500N for wire with a diameter of 1.0-1.4mm, 1600-1800N for wire with a diameter of 0.6-1.0mm, and 1600-2000N for wire with a diameter of 0.3-1.0mm.
The High Carbon Spring Steel Wire is packed in rolls with different weight options available, including 10kg, 15kg, 25kg, 30kg, 50kg, 100kg, 200kg, 500kg, and 1000kg. It can also be packed on Z2 spools or paper cards, according to your specific requirements.
Surface options for this wire include bright polish, plain color, electric galvanized, and hot-dipped galvanized. Its strong and hard characteristics make it ideal for applications such as springs, mattresses, steel wire ropes, mesh-making, and razor inside wire.
This high tensile strength wire is also suitable for prestressed concrete applications.
