High Carbon Spring Steel Wire is a type of non-alloy steel wire that is not plated or coated. It is made from a combination of carbon and iron, with low carbon content resulting in soft and easily formed wire. As the carbon content increases, the wire becomes stronger, harder, and less ductile, making it difficult to weld. However, the higher carbon content also lowers the melting point and makes the wire less resistant to temperatures.
There are four types of carbon steel wire: low (mild) carbon steel, medium-carbon steel, high carbon steel wire, and very high carbon steel wire. Each type has specific uses due to their differing properties. High carbon steel wire, for example, is commonly used in the production of drill bits, saws, masonry nails, as well as wood and metal cutting tools.
Steel wire rope, which consists of several strands or rods of steel twisted together, is another application of high carbon steel wire. The strands themselves are made up of steel wires laid together in a helical structure. The construction and specifications of steel wire rope can vary.
The raw material for carbon steel wire includes various types such as #45, #55, #65Mn, #70, and #82a. The tensile strength of high carbon steel wire ranges from 1300-2000N for wire diameters of 1.4-4.0mm, 2000-2500N for wire diameters of 1.0-1.4mm, 1600-1800N for wire diameters of 0.6-1.0mm, and 1600-2000N for wire diameters of 0.3-1.0mm.
The packaging options for high carbon steel wire include rolls of different weights, such as 10kg, 15kg, 25kg, 30kg, 50kg, 100kg, 200kg, 500kg, and 1000kg. The wire can be packed on Z2 spools or paper cards, depending on the customer's request. The surface finish options include bright polish, plain color, electric galvanized, and hot dipped galvanized.
High Carbon Spring Steel Wire has various applications, including the production of springs, mattresses, steel wire rope, and mesh. It is also used in the manufacturing of razor inside wire and high tensile strength wire for prestressed concrete.
