High Carbon Spring Steel Wire is a type of non-alloy steel wire that is not plated or coated. It is made from a metal alloy of carbon and iron, with low carbon content resulting in soft and easily formed properties. As the carbon content increases, the wire becomes stronger, harder, and less ductile, making it difficult to weld. The higher carbon content also lowers the melting point and reduces resistance to temperatures.

 

There are four types of carbon steel wire: low (mild) carbon steel, medium-carbon steel, high carbon steel wire, and very high carbon steel wire. Each type has specific uses based on its properties. For instance, high carbon steel wire is commonly used in the production of drill bits, saws, masonry nails, wood and metal cutting tools, as well as steel wire ropes.
